Scouting in The Rain and Hail

Yesterday, we scouted around downtown Toronto, in order for us to have a planned location route for the wedding we are shooting this coming Sunday. Through the rain and hail, we’ve found some nice places and we are really excited for the wedding!

After consulting the weather forecast prediction, it seems like it should be sunny and warm (and not raining/hailing) on the wedding day. Let’s hope that’s the case!

We also wanted to share our new logo with you all! It took multiple meetings, but in the end we ended up with something we really love. Thanks so much Matthew Ng!

Kites Flying High

We attended the Four Winds Kite Festival in Vaughn yesterday. A perfect Sunday with summer-like weather: no clouds, no rain and no wind (unfortunately). The only way to get kites airborne on a windless day is non-stop running.

A Few More BTS

As promised, some more Behind-The-Scenes photos. The landscape picture below was taken in – 27 degree Celsius… yep, wanted to push that 5D Mark III to its limits. We are also impatient for warmer weather to come around: we had a last taste of winter last week with a winter storm.

Also, we have finalized our new logo last night and can’t wait for all the last touches to be done.

Spring Run

April marks the time when those stubborn trouts make their way up the Humber River to complete the circle of life. This past weekend we were at Etienne Brule Park, like may other city-dwellers, to see this test of perseverance from the trouts for their perilous journey… and from my fellow fishermen and I who tried trout fishing in vain. Also, the close-up pic of the one jumping… compliments of my dad’s 500 mm f/8 Cambron lens. No IS, nor AF, very flimsy, but gets the job done.

Behind The Scenes 2012

A look at the behind the scenes of some of the shoots we’ve been on. Hopefully, you will be able to see from the perspective of the photographer, who sometimes requires a stepladder to get any perspective at all. More to be posted in the near future. Also, we have been collaborating with a friend of ours on a new logo. We are very excited about that and hopefully everything will be ready soon!

The Moon

My dad got a hold of a 500mm f8 Cambron lens. We were able to mount it on the EOS bodies using an adaptor. When mounted on a Rebel T1i, we were able to capture the Moon. The image is a bit soft maybe due to the adaptor or lack of IS. There are a few more FD lenses my dad got off ebay that I can’t wait to try.

In this morning’s -27 degree Celsius in Ottawa, I wonder how these little tame creatures can tolerate the cold. Get this, they eat off your hand. This morning was also a test of the tough build of the 5D Mark III.
